Do You Need to Get Your Scrapbook Supplies Organized

Are you new to scrapbooking?  Is it a pastime that you like more each day?  If that is the case you might want to increase your scrapbook supplies.  Amateurs tend to start out small, but as your quality gets better, so may your ideas.  Unfortunately, the more scrapbook supplies you buy, the more difficult you will find it to remain organized.

Prior to targeting ways that you can organize your scrapbook supplies, you should know why it’s critical to do so.  To start, organization can improve your scrapbook quality.  You may have found a neat sticker sheet for Valentine’s Day, but if you can’t find it, you can go for your second choice.

Talking of which, that brings us to another benefit of staying organized, saving money.  If you can’t find a supply that you bought, due to being confused, you’ll buy another.  This could lead to you spending unnecessary cash.  And, when you finally do find what you wanted, you might not use it again.

How, then, are you able to keep your scrapbooking supplies organized?  In all honesty, your options aren’t limited.  One favored approach is to purchase clear plastic storage drawers.  Inside each drawer you can keep your scrapbook supplies.  For instance, one drawer can house all of your paper products, another your pictures, another your stamps, and another the other supplies,eg scissors, adhesives, and pens.

You may depend on the utilization of ziplock bags.  They come in a range of different sizes, so almost all of your scrapbook supplies should fit inside.  Have a bag for your stickers, one for your pens, one for your glue sticks, and so forth.  If you have a large collection of stickers, sort them.  For instance, place all Christmas stickers in one bag and Easter stickers in another.  Once filled, all these ziplock bags can be stored in a cardboard box.

Should you be new to scrapbooking and have yet to develop a large collection of scrapbook supplies, an extensible storage case or poly envelope can take care of the things.  These items are awfully cheap and may even be included in a beginner’s’s scrapbooking kit.  As you raise your supplies, you can inspect other alternatives if you end up limited on space.

If you are a keen or professional scrapbooker, you also have the option of purchasing put away away tables.  These tables not only offer you a workstation, but concealed compartments for you to store your scrapbooking supplies.  As for why this product is best left for zealous or pro scrapbookers, it is because they are expensive.  A stow away table for scrapbooking can easily cost a couple of hundred dollars.

in addition to organizing your acquired scrapbook supplies, you also need to keep your footage organized.  There are a number of advantages to doing so.  One of those benefits is not missing anything.  If you are making a scrapbook in chronological order, you be dissatisfaction when you later found an image too late.  When your photographs are arranged, this may not be an issue .

So then how should you arrange your photographs?  It relies on the flow of your scrapbook.  As previously stated , if you are doing a book in chronological order, commence with the footage you will use first,eg your baby’s first year.  If you’ve a hundred or more photos, a pile may be out of the question.  Standard pictures fit into ziplock bags, so utilize them.  As per sequential order, label each bag with the year.

As well as organizing your scrapbooking supplies and photos, also organize your workstation.  If you’re like many hobbyists, you’ll make your scrapbooks at the kitchen table.  This is O.K, but keep your table clear.  This lets you spread out your scrapbook supplies, ensuring you don’t miss anything significant.  If you only have a set period of time to scrapbook, stop early for cleanup.  Confirm all your supplies go into their chosen section.

As mentioned above, keeping your scrapbook supplies organized is a very easy process, especially since you have so many possibilities.

How the Tradition of Mailing Christmas Cards Started

Mailing Christmas cards to express Christmas messages was started  in 1843 by an Englishman, Sir Henry Cole.

Because he had too many customers to hand compose Christmas letters, Sir Henry Cole enlisted artist John Calcott Horsley to create a card onto which he had printed “A Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to You”.He had one thousand cards printed.Of those, twelve exist today.Soon, sending Christmas cards caught on and became tradition.

In the late 19th century and early twentieth century, Christmas cards created  by Kate Greenaway, the Victorian childrens storyteller and illustrator, were popular.  She often made cards with different fabrics and fringe.    Some were even elaborate pop-ups featuring skaters and tiny mangers.

Christmas cards were not common in the US until 1875, when Louis Prang, a German immigrant, opened up a shop and began producing them.  Prior to to that time, Americans imported Christmas cards from England.  Unfortunately, Prang was forced out of business in the 1890’s when foreign printers produced cheaper cards.  Still, Prang is known as the father of the American Christmas card.

Competition amongst card publishers during WWI resulted in technical advances.

Color lithography, first was used during America’s Depression in the 1930’s, renovated the card industry.

Placing humor into cards was the big change for greeting cards in the 1950’s.  These cards, called staple cards, are still very popular today.

The 1990’s saw the introduction of the e-card, an electronic version of a greeting card sent via e-mail.

Today, there are many types of Christmas card available, including traditional and religious Christmas cards to funny Christmas cards.  In fact, the industry has evolved so much that there is a card for virtually any event, or “non-event.”  Still, Christmas remains the highest ranking of the card-selling holidays.

As a staple of the holidays, Christmas cards are sent to family, friends and business colleagues to express holiday wishes.  With people’s busy lives, it is often the only time they update family and friends on events that happened in their lives during the year.  While the Christmas card is changing from one decade to the next, the sentiment is the same:  “Merry Christmas!”

Selecting Scrapbooking Supplies

Never before has it been easier to make your own scrapbook using scrapbooking supplies that are easily available in stores and online, creating your own scrapbook designs and layouts if you want.

First, you should select what kind of scrapbook you would like to make.  There are different sizes that are accessible in bookstores and online.

The most common sizes are the 8×12 and the 12×12 inch formats.  These sizes are a bit pricey but they have above average qualities and can store a large amount of collections.

The 8×11 format is best since it can fit the printers that are generally of the same size.  You can also use three ring binders, which is a great option for a scrapbook.

You may even put the pages like the format of a post type binder where you could create a double outline.  The pages are attached closely in order that they can be used as one outline.  You can compose photographs on that format even if they are not separately put on the printer.

Also available are far more inexpensive scads that you can get in the 8×12 format.  They can be employed as faculty supplies, art, and office supplies too.

You can have more room from the pages if your possibility is to use 3 ring binders for your memory book.  However, it is better to have top of the range binders to help you arrange the collections on the pages before preparing them in a post type binder.

It is not sensible to employ a spiral non-removable scrapbook because you will be limited on one special page and you may wish to rearrange the pages.  Some people are still buying this kind of format because they specialize on a particular accumulation.  This allows them to specify the collections from each page.

There are also themed scrapbooking supplies that can exhibit those fun memories.  Your kids may enjoy looking at the photographs so they can see how styles and trends looked back then.  Neighbors and friends visiting your home might have fun flipping through the pages instead of just taking a look at old photo albums.

It is always pleasurable to remember the moments in your life by taking a look at your memory book.  Making a scrapbook with more than one themes is straightforward to organize especially if you use inexpensive scrapbooking supplies.

Each page can be themed differently.  In fact, you are able to save more money and time when you apply an identical color on the background if you desire. There are so many scrapbooking supplies obtainable that the possibilities are limitless limit when it comes to making a scrapbook.

Yet, with all of the items, papers and letters that you want to include in your page, you generally finish up confused.  You don’t have to worry about that now, these are easy scrapbooking tips that you can keep in mind while starting to work on your scrapbook layout.

Balance

Make certain your design has balance.  If you have got a enormous photo on the center of the page, make sure that it doesn’t look like it’s hanging when you put the other items on the sheet.  Also, if you want to create a 2 page lay-out, eye the things on the pages and make sure that they favor each other.

Decorations

Always ensure that you have 1 theme in your scrapbook layout.  Sometimes the things greatly affect the layout of your page.  So be sure that they are related.  Items definitely have some commonality.  Always appraise them before designing your page.

Clutter

It is best that every item on your scrapbook layout is discernible.  If you put too many things on each page, the layout will certainly suffer.  Be sure that there are just enough items for a page.  Managing the page for its layout will be simpler if you only have enough elements for the space.

Variations

Be certain to make divergences in your layout.  If possible, make a practice set for all of your scrapbook layout designs and put each of them on a list.  That way you can immediately distinguish the styles that you have used in your scrapbook.  A really engaging scrapbook is one that has variations yet keeps one basic theme.

FATHER’S DAY SCRAPBOOK THEME

FATHER’S DAY SCRAPBOOK THEME When we buy gifts for our mothers it is not as difficult as buying one for our fathers. Men’s needs in general are expensive and do not have much variation. There is one gift that you can give to the special man in your life. Honor you father by creating a scrapbook of him with a father’s day scrapbook theme.

A scrapbook is one way of showing your father how his presence has influenced your life. You will be hard pressed to find a gift that will leave a personal impression on your father like you will find with creating a scrapbook.

You can choose many different thems for your Father’s Day Scrapbook. The the scrapbook theme include your father’s life from childhood? Are you going to center on the learning and effect of your father in your life? Does your dad have a favorite hobby that you can make as a graphic theme for your scrapbook? Let us say that your father is a fishing enthusiast, you can probably have fishing tools as background images. If he is a baseball fan then maybe something about his favorite team can be an underlying theme.

You can then start purchasing the materials that you are going to need to create the scrapbook. Here are some tips to help you get organized:

·Have a spread of photos of your dad whether alone, with the family or with other people. Select the best ones for your scrapbook. These would be the photos that highlight an important event in your dad’s life or those that convey your emotions about your father.

You want to limit your page to about 3 colors because too many colors will leave your page looking too busy. You want to select colors that match the photos that you are using in the scrapbook page. Placing odd colors with photos can make the picture clash with the background and you want to keep your colors working together. If you know your father’s favorite colors then this can be used.

·Choose one photo that is to be the focal point of the scrapbook. This can be a solo shot of your father. It can be a studio shot. An outdoor photo is also a good center piece.

The main picture should be highlighted to stand out. You can mat the image by having a wider border or another color which will stand out from the rest.

·Add journaling to your scrapbook page. Place a comment or caption about what the photo is, where it was made, what happened, etc. This will make the scrapbook more interesting.

·Arrange the elements of the scrapbook in a way that does not crowd the page.  Many people will create scrapbook pages that are full of pictures and make the page look more like a photo album.  This is not the look that you want if you are trying to create a scrapbook.. A page with too many photos may overwhelm the viewer.

·Place embellishments on your page – stickers, die cuts, rubber stamps and punches. You do want to be careful not to overpower the images on the page.

Consider asking other family members to provide photos and include their own journal along with the picture they supply. You want to get others involved in creating your fathers scrapbook.  The more people that are involved the more meaning it will have in the future.  Try to get your dads closest friends and family to participate in the creation of the scrapbook.
